Oh where are you IT, maintenance, legal etc.
My pal Aldagh McDonogh told me a thing about starting a business. She said, “When you have a great day and feel on top of the world, you might look around the office and glance at the overflowing rubbish bin, and say, “Someone should take that out.” And then you will come right back to Earth and say, “Oh, and that ‘someone’ would be me.”
We had one of those moments in the office yesterday. We loved how the Grommet rocked online with our sex ed health books. So much fun! But there was this large pile of trash bags stacking up by the back door. Apparently no one wanted to brave the snow just outside. (This is ordinarily a pretty neat bunch. We have to be…we are sitting cheek by jowl in this funky office space.) It was starting to look like a total frat house in that one area.
Joanne called out, “Where is the maintenance man?!!”
And a few of us looked at each other and laughed and said…”And that would be us.”

Love this story. Sounds (and looks!) like you have a great time together! I have a small start-up company where we now have 8 women employees, but we’re all in different parts of the country. I would LOVE to have a place where we all worked in the same office. I’m sure yours is a place where everyone actually enjoys coming to work! Wonderful!
