Three crazy-great stories that make me proud
We had great success with launching three wildly different Grommets last week. I share them below.
Squatty Potty. This is a brave story for us. I mean, seriously, who really wants to talk about better bowel movements??? There is none better than my team for nailing hard subjects with grace and intelligence. (But I did wonder how our new employee Annaliese felt about being thrown at this one within her first month of work!)
Fresh Paper. This is a totally different innovation to keep fresh produce fresh. It is also a triple bottom line company. We are very skilled at surfacing the “why” behind a company and product. People are calling this focus on knowing the origins of a product the “Fifth P of Marketing.”
Happy Scarves. I have to admit that when I handled these samples in the Grommet office I was surprised that simple, pretty scarves managed to become a Grommet. (We only launch three products a day, selecting from hundreds of community submissions, so the bar to become a Grommet is very high.) Then I saw the founders’ video story we had produced, and I was very proud of my team for getting out of the way and letting these young and independent entrepreneurs talk about why these scarves make them, and others, happy. They are adorable, smart, and inspiring.
